Nurse Appreciation Spotlight: Celebrating 2025

Nurse Appreciation Spotlight

At GoodWork, we celebrate our nurses every day. During National Nurses Week, we shine a light on their invaluable contributions. Four of our dedicated nurses share pivotal moments from their careers that reflect their passion for patient care and their efforts to help others secure ideal positions. These nurses demonstrate resilience and unwavering commitment, inspiring others in their field.

Nurse 1: Passion Across Multiple Sectors

One nurse, driven by her passion for caring, found fulfillment in nursing across several sectors. She now works as a Talent Advocate at GoodWork, where she supports nurses in their job searches and encourages them to achieve their career goals. A defining moment in her career came during her final orientation shift in the ER. After experiencing the loss of a patient, she assisted in the birth of a healthy baby, highlighting the balance of life’s joys and sorrows in nursing. This experience underscored the vital role nurses play in both the most difficult and the most joyous times in patients' lives. Recognizing nurses’ commitment to exceptional care is crucial. If a nurse is unavailable, it is often because they are assisting another patient. Nurses consistently prioritize their patients’ needs, delivering compassionate care whenever possible. GoodWork’s vibrant culture fosters a supportive atmosphere, where uplifting nurses is a daily commitment.

Nurse 2: The NICU Nurse Who Found Her Calling

Another nurse discovered her calling to work in the NICU early in her career. Initially starting as an EMT, she found her passion for critical care and has never looked back. As a Screener at GoodWork, she enjoys meeting new nurses and rekindling her love for the field. Her defining moment came when she advocated for a severely ill patient, ultimately saving his life. This reinforced the importance of patient advocacy in nursing. Kindness, even in the busiest and most chaotic environments, can have a profound impact on patient outcomes. Acknowledging the hard work of nurses can make a significant difference in their experience. At GoodWork, the team spirit promotes collaboration, ensuring no nurse feels isolated. The organization offers many opportunities for personal and professional development, empowering nurses to grow in roles beyond traditional ones.

Nurse 3: The Charge Nurse Inspired by Her Own Experience

A nurse with extensive experience in Pediatric ICU/ER and Perioperative Services was inspired by her experience as a patient to join the nursing profession. One of her most impactful moments occurred when a student expressed gratitude before surgery. This interaction reminded her of the importance of human connection in healthcare, especially during moments when patients feel vulnerable and alone. Simple gestures, such as a heartfelt note or a small gift, can brighten a nurse's day and reinforce the profound impact of kindness. The supportive environment and work-life balance at GoodWork are key to her job satisfaction, making her feel valued and appreciated for her contributions to patient care.

Fostering a Supportive Culture

At GoodWork, we understand the challenges nurses face and believe in fostering a culture of appreciation and support. Each nurse’s role is vital in ensuring the well-being of patients, and we are proud to help nurses find opportunities that align with their skills and aspirations.
